Youth is not at all multi-tasking
06-05-09
Everyone is saying for years already that young people have the gift to be able to watch TV, at the same time listen to music and at the same play games and/or chat on the Internet. In short, young people, must be the ultimate multi-taskers. Recent research shows however that the adolescent brain is very chaotic, and is indeed willing to receive a lot of incentives, but only very little information penetrates and stays in the brain. This therefore calls for a different approach in communication. Until early 20, the brain is not yet mature and the adolescent brain is still developing. During this period the brain does not grow bigger, but gets better organized. Until all connections are in place, adolescents have difficulties to oversee the consequences of their acts (such as smoking), they do not understand so well the feelings of others (such as their parents) and have difficulties with planning (such as homework).
In a busy environment it is difficult for them to filter what they want or need to remember. With the information overload of today, it is extremely difficult for advertisers to get their messages across. It is the gift of communication experts such as JuniorSenior to get the youth’s full attention and get the message across. Do you want to know how? Call me at 003120-788 2660 for an appointment. I will then explain to you how to reach a young target group effectively.
